The Hakari Confederation

The Hakari Confederation was founded by a former member world of the United Federation of Planets called Hakari.

Their government felt that Starfleet had not protected their world’s interests and sovereignty during the Dominion War. At first, the Federation Council attempted to smooth things over by sending an entire squadron of Defiant-Class vessels, but the Hakari felt that this 'measure' was too little too late. In 2391 the Hakari left the Federation.

In only three decades, the Hakari were able to found their own mini-federation, consisting of 5 independent worlds:

          - Hakari
          - Tenuncla V
          - Noraya
          - Azetbach
          - Kim'No'Rel

The Confederation is organised not much unlike the 20th centuries EU and NATO. The presidency is based on a rotating system, which means that every member world heads the Confederation once every 5 years.

At first the relations with the UFP were amicable but that all changed when the Norayans joined the Confederation. The Norayans soon enslaved two other races called the Nosh and the Xary. This of course goes against one of basic rules of the Federation’s Prime Directive, and as a result the Council withdrew all of their ambassadors from Hakari Confederation territory.

There is currently no military tension between the two powers.
